Thanks it's thrifted challenge

The annual greenhouse gas emissions from producing new clothes and textiles is 1.2 billion tonnes or 8% of global carbon emissions. That’s greater than the emissions created by international flights and shipping combined 😱

Extending the life of clothes by buying secondhand or thrifting is one simple way we can all make a difference. In fact, recent research from the clever folks at WRAP in the UK shows that extending the life of an item of clothes by just nine months reduces it’s carbon, waste and water footprint by 20-30%.

Just imagine the difference we can make if we get everyone across Australia thrifting.

Cue the “Thanks, it’s thrifted!” social media challenge, dedicated to showing ALL of Australia just how great thrifting is. Will you join us?
